A comprehensive dry eye assessment is the foundation of accurate diagnosis and effective long-term management.
Our assessment process begins with advanced diagnostic testing using the MYAH diagnostic suite by Topcon, which provides detailed, non-invasive analysis of the ocular surface and tear film. The MYAH system measures key parameters such as tear film stability, tear meniscus height, and blink dynamics, while also capturing high-resolution images of the meibomian glands to assess their structure and integrity.
This allows early detection of gland dropout, obstruction, or dysfunction that may not be visible during routine examination. The technology delivers objective, repeatable data that helps us determine the specific type and severity of dry eye, whether evaporative, aqueous deficient, or mixed, and enables accurate monitoring of changes over time.
In addition to MYAH testing, a thorough slit lamp examination and Meibomian gland expression assessment are performed to closely evaluate the health of the eyelids, lashes, tear film, and ocular surface. This assessment allows us to identify signs of inflammation, redness, surface irregularities, lid margin disease, or blepharitis that may be contributing to dry eye symptoms.
